A summary of all requests is below, listed in order of their posting since thread inception on 2.23.07.
Please post here (or PM me if preferred) issues for which you would like prayer. I would like to carry the needs/concerns of the TMC family to the Throne of Grace, belonging to God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I (and a number of un-named members) commit to pray consistently for whatever request is posted here. After a year has passed on a request without updates, I will delete it from the list below for the sole purpose of keeping the list from being so overwhelming. Requests (Those in blue italics are those which God has given an answer to, or are simply praises.) 31. (4.11.07, Post # 87) - Funk - (much clipped out of history here) As of 2.3.10, my mother continues to fight, 13 years of ovarian cancer last month, amazing fight in this woman!! As of 3.26.10, my mother is continuing the fight against cancer although the bad numbers are going up, treatments are costly, decisions will have to be made at some point on a new direction. She continues to fight and enjoy each day. As of 6.10.10....First, I want to thank everyone who is a part of this board for their prayers and support throughout the 3-4 years that I have been involved. My mother went to the hospital just over two weeks ago with the beginning signs of liver failure. She fought over 13 years after being diagnosed with stage III ovarian cancer and had chemo treatment just over a month ago in the continued fight. She very much beat the statistics and fought to the very end. She was peacefully taken from us yesterday morning 6/9/10 at the age of 62 to be with the angels above. God bless all involved and prayers for our family and friends are much appreciated. Thank you. 91. (1.30.08, Post # 491) - Funk - (much clipped out of history here) As of 9.24.09, Amy (wife's best friend, 28) is going back into Cedar Sanai tomorrow for treatment. Not good news. Her cancer is very serious. She is 30 which is good for the fight but as we all saw with Patrick Swayze, pancreatic is a very nasty one to concur. We are having a dinner get-together this evening at our house to have a good time prior to her going into the fight once again. As of 2.3.10, Amy is doing well with treatments and continuing to live life to the fullest. All of the girls went up to Santa Anita last Friday for the horse races to celebrate her 2 year anniversary of her fight. 117. (11.13.08, Post # 646) - Suedv - I was told yesterday that I will be laid off at the end of the month. I was told it has nothing to do with job performance, they are happy with my work, there is just a shortage of funds. Please pray for me and the many others who are looking for work. As of 11.5.09, still no job. As of 6.16.10, Sue has been working for 2 months! 121. (12.17.08, Post # 672) - Flipper - Just got some pics from a close family friend's son boarding the plane, headed to Afghanistan. His parents and little brothers are having trouble with it, but support him 100% and are very proud of him. I pray for his safe return, strength for his family along with a general prayer request to all the troops serving our country and their families. As of 11.6.09, he made it out of afghanistan ok, but was having some kind of health problems. Don't know exactly what, so last we herd he was laid up in a hospital in Germany some where. From what they are saying the doctors aren't really sure what is wrong yet. They are saying he will be back in the states around Christmas time so we are all looking forward to that. As of 6.14.10, he's doing well, and actually got married last month. He's still in the state for now and is debating on re-enlisting, but that would mean another trip over seas. His health problems are gone. 147. (7.16.09, Post # 771) - Corey - [history clipped] As of 11.23.09, Madeline Marie King was born on November 13, 2009!!! (More can be found in post # 799.) As of 2.2.10...TT'ers, I wanted to again say thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. After 2 months of monitoring the time for surgery arrived. After a 4.5 hour procedure I am happy to say that the first surgery is done and Madeline is recouperating in the ICU. We will be here for several days at the least but right now everything is looking good. We still have another surgery down the road however the initial surgery is one of the more complex and obviously more important ones. As of 4.24.10, Everything is going very well and she is growing super fast. She is fully recouped from her initial surgery and is just about the happiest little girl you've ever met. We are headed in for a heart catheter next Friday to help open up some of her coronary vessels and while it's small potatoes compared to the surgery I could really use your thoughts and prayers. We are very sad to report that Maddie passed away the last week in April 2010. 149. (9.15.09, Post # 789) - Suedv - My dad is in the hospital right now getting a hernia repaired. They are putting in some kind of mesh to keep it in. My sister was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and cancer in her lymph nodes. She is having surgery on the September 22 to have a lump removed and her lymph nodes on that side removed. She will be on chemo this fall. She is a single mom with kids still in school. This will be very hard for her. She lives in the Toronto area so she isn't close to family for help since we're all in Western Michigan. As of 11.5.09, my dad recovered well from his hernia operation, my hamstring that I messed up skiing in September is doing really well, my sister start chemotherapy today for cancer in her breast and lymph nodes and she could really use prayers. As of 6.16.10, my sister is done with her chemo and radiation for breast cancer. She as hair that is about 1/2" long now so she feels like she is on the road to recovery. 150. (11.23.09, Post # 801) - Tex - As of 12.2.09, The latest on my Uncle Dave-Does not look good...they are only giving him a couple of months. Here is part of an email that his daughter sent out about his condition. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. "The melanoma is widespread throughout dad’s body. It is stage IV. The cancer is on top of dad’s head, in dad’s left lobe of his brain, his right shoulder, left arm, right lung (4 nodules plus 1 in left upper lobe, back (2nd lumbar vertebra), liver (right lobe), and left thigh." Dave passed away on 3.17.10. 151. (11.30.09, Post # 803) - Babymoore3 - All, not really a request for me but hurting for those around me. At work around the three days around Thanksgiving we have had three deaths close to co-workers. One father, one brother and one aunt. Considering there are only about 25 people in our immediate office it is rather strange. Just prayer that this influx of family deaths stops. Many are not believers so just would like wisdom as one is our group leader. 152. (12.3.09, Post # 810) - cmw - My best friend (43) is going through the same thing [as Tex's uncle]. Two operations later and they told him he has 3-6 months. I will keep them both in my prayers. It has been a tough two years. Mom, Father-in-Law, Sister, Aunt last week and now best friend. 153. (1.5.10, Post # 812) - Skipper - My oldest boy, David, (22 yrs) is in the Intensive Care Unit following hospitalization early this morning. He had been throwing up blood. He waited too long to go to the hospital and nearly bled to death from the inside. Doctors are uncertain of what is causing the problem. It may be a bleeding ulcer. However, it may be related to a previous accident. In May 2003 while I was in Iraq (first time), he was sandwiched between the swim platform and the house while helping his mother back the boat into the garage. He spent two months in the ICU. He had numerous abdominal surgeries. In the end, he recovered but has always had complications. He could certainly benefit from your prayers. As of 1.8.10, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. David responded well to the antibiotics. Yesterday he was moved from ICU. Today he is out of the hospital. Not a bleeding ulcer. Not really sure the cause. But he is doing much better now. 154. (1.7.10, Given Via PM) - MYMC - A little boy named Spencer who is suffering greatly with cancer. http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/...ad.php?t=33776. As of 2.3.10, this note from his family posted in MYMC's thread: "I am PRAISING GOD beyond measures right this very second!!! Kathy called from Dr. G's office. NO CANCER ACTIVITY showing on PET/CT from yesterday. The original "pingpong" size tumor from Thanksgiving 2009 scan is not showing up. The latest multiple tumors from January 2010 are not "glowing"..ALL WONDERFUL NEWS!! The chemo is apparently working..BUT most of all God's hand is working!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!" 155. (1.22.10, Post # 824) - Bcampbe7 - Oldest son will be having his tonsils and adenoids removed Jan 28th. Praying for a smooth surgery and recovery. Wife and I could use the prayers in order to decrease our anxiety. As of 1.31.10, so far, everything has gone better than expected. Parker came through the surgery great and has has a fairly painless recovery. 156. (1.31.10, Post # 827) - Coz - I'd like to ask a favor of my fellow TT'ers. My childhood friend from SoCal Chris Smith (Smitty) joined the service out of HS and has been in every conflict since the eighties. He has just retired with a distinguished service record and is back home with his family now. He has dogged bombs, bullets and deadly firefights only to come home and find out he now has to battle cancer and is going through the painful proccess of chemo therapy. Chris is a great dedicated husband, father & soldier that could some prayers right now, I'm not a devout religeous person but I believe the power of prayer can do some amazing things and would appreciate it dearly if you could keep Chris and his family in your thoughts. 157. (2.3.10, Post # 835) - Funk - Very sad news though about my grandfather. His alzheimer's is in it's final stages, not mobile at all any longer, pnuemonia kicked in last weekend, and it's looking like the end is near. At 87 and the condition now, we pray for a peaceful end. I went out to see him yesterday and they moved him to hospice last night, doctor says 2 weeks. When I think of this man I think of all the great things he taught me growing up. As of 3.26.10, my grandfather passed away early last month at the age of 87. He was a great man and lived a full life, nothing sad about it. We put him to rest at the National Cemetery in Riverside, CA with the Navy farewell. Very nice salute to a great guy! 158. (2.3.10, Post # 836) - Slinkyredfoot - My father passed away Tuesday morning after a long wonderful life of almost 92 years. I would like to send a prayer out to my entire family to ease our grief and to know he is in a much better place right now. 159. (3.21.10, Post # 843) - ChrisEMK - I'm 27 years old and I just graduated college. I am at the beginning of my journey to become a man. 1 year ago I was struck with a serious knee injury that needed surgery, and in the last 2 months I have developed a new/more serious knee problem. The articular cartilage on my left femur is damaged, and depending on the prognosis, I may have already developed arthritis. Please send out your prayers as I am going to see another specialist on 3/25/10, I hope the damage is repairable so I can live a healthy fulfilling life. I also hope this is not a selfish request as I re-damaged the knee in a noble cause. I believe I found this thread not by chance, but because this is a major turning point in my life and I need to come closer to Jesus. 160. (3.28.10, Post # 849) - ChrisEMK - I met Thomas today, a young man around my age whose mom was hit by a car in downtown Dallas. She is on ICU and costing up to $5000/day. He recently lost his father and has a wife with a little one on the way. I told him I would pray for him, his family and his mom' Beverly's recovery. Please add Thomas and Beverly to your prayers. His family is from Michigan and he is mostly alone right now. He needs all the help he can get. 161. (6.16.10, Post # 867) - DooSPX - My grandmother had a massive stroke and pass[ed] away... We just got back in town from the mass, funeral and burial. My grandfather and her have been married for 62 years... He is so lost, I have never seen him like this. I am thankful that she is in Heaven, but it is him and my family I am worried about. Last edited by Jesus_Freak; Yesterday at 12:51 PM. |

Great Idea JF, you filled a need, Thanks.........Cec
The thought came to me that maybe others struggle with prayers like I do or do not know exactly how. Now I am not an "Ordainded Poster" not by a long shot but I think a prayer can be as simple as looking at the screen and saying to yourself or outloud "Lord" then just say what is asked in the request and followed up with " in your name I pray, amen. I shortened the original post when coming in and looking at it I thought it was all pretty busy and a bit to much but you can go to the website below for some more help if you like. My wife could use some prayer. She is having trouble nursing our 6mo. old girl. She nursed our two boys till they were 1 and it was a wonderful experience for her. With this baby her milk is not coming in like it did in previous pregancies.
She went on some perscription meds to help and she started to have an alergic reaction. She now feels like its useless and she is neglecting our baby. She takes this part of mothering very seriously and is quite frustrated. Ellie (the baby) just wails when she tries to nurse now cause there is no milk. To make matters worse, I am out off town for the next 5 days. Thanks for your prayers. |
